Some of you have been extremely critical. I can understand that this film isn't worthy of any film festival awards... at least by professional standards. But obviously this isn't a professional film. I have to be honest, I think it is pretty good considering it is an amature film. I think that most people who have commented on this film are speaking from the perspective of just a viewer. I think, to be fare, a purely academic analysis of this film would be appropriate. As a former film student, I find this film to be pretty good. The score & sound affects are well placed, and cinematography is actually quite good. I think if this was a graded project I'd definately give it an A. Film making is not as easy as some might think, so all things considered I think this film is good. People need to stop being so judgemental and see it for what it is...a work of creative minds and obvious loyal fans. The only suggestion I might have made if I were on the production crew would be to keep the entire film the way the first 20 minutes is...silent. Let the actions tell the story... I think that would have been a nicer affect for the viewing audience, as sort of a throw back to traditional silent filming techniques. Some of the dialogue is a little off beat for the setting of this film, but all in all I enjoyed it. I can always appreciate the time and effort that went into making an amature film. Good job guys...make some more films, keep practicing and developing your film making skills...you might be the next speilberg one day. Don't let any of these other uninformed opinions get you down. Good job. |

This is crap, a low budget is not a handycap on script, choreographing, or acting in general. Bad costumes and effects, sure I'll overlook that, no problem. But the actors didn't take anything seriously, especially the fighting. I've seen 9 year olds get more ballsy with plastic swords, rofl. I know that this is done in respects to comedy, but I've laughed harder at ill timed farts. Seriously, this has no redeeming qualities. |

The movie was bullcrap it was something I would create when I was like 5 crappy acting, costumes, lighting, there was no suspension of disbelief at all, conflicting scenery, none of the actors took anything seriously, no effort was put into anything (paper crown and glasses?), fight scenes were terrible, music was inconsistent, some music did not match, plot went on way too many tangents, the only character that had any solidness was Link , the worse directing ever But I had a few good laughs watching it |

As a filmer myself who sadly hasnt made any "home movies" latly but on a scale of 1-10 i rate a 6.5 because of the fact there is no speaking camra work is a bit shoty (needs improvement) and costumes arnt to good but other then that crators of this filmyou did a pretty good job for a first time and i applaud you for a very good effort so just because jpayton is a huge ass dont give up on your filming it is an exelent carrer to get into just try to work on improvments like: script,costumes and a better fimer good job ppl. |

this movie could be just a little bit better. there is almost not enough fighting scenes, and even though there is the fighting scenes are not very convincing as in violent. but i like the moivie as being funny and trying hard to make the characters similar to the zelda games. this movie is only a fan movie anyway, so if there is ever going to be a real zelda film it better be much better than this. cool movie anyway |

It was a good attempt at a comedy sketch, but no this couldn't pass off for a REAL Zelda movie...So Idk why they say it is. IMO, Navi was the best character in this [the most comical] , and that's pretty sad seeing as it's just a computer animation. Navi made this movie watchable.... You made Link seem like a fag. And he tripped...you should have cut that part out. You could have gotten someone prettier for Zelda's part. Didn't Zelda have blonde hair anyway? And she orders pizza? Lame. They play a video game...wow. A burger king crown...wow. Sneakers...jeans...wow. You could have made it better even if you had a strict budget. You could have used like an old brown shirt to cover the sneakers with [cut it up, be creative], bought a plastic fake crown [better then paper], used the original music score instead of music form a whole other video game, taken off the street clothes that are under the costumes...then splurge on some pieces for there ears. i like the way u lot tried to keep some similarities to the game included. as a zelda fan, its easy to find them. i did feel that is was a spoof on the whole. the zelda series has huge and detailed storylines, ripe for filming, but it would have to have a lot of money put into it to make it any good. i would prefer to see a more serious film. and i dont think you can make a spoof film until the real one has been made first. there was obviously time and effort put into this, but i think that the time could have been spent on creating a deeper watch. |

I am a reknowned film critic and seasoned TLoZ player and I am prepared to make a critical analysis of the short film I have just viewed. Firstly, I can tell that there was a lot of time and effort put into the making of this film. There was obviously a large amount of filming space. The costumes were fairly decent and the props were good. The 'Hyrule Castle' set may have been better but I can understand that the budget was not Hollywood. Secondly, I realize that this was a comedy spoof of the 1998 video game "The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time" for Nintendo 64. The script was not well thought out and the acting was not the best. However, I did like the subliminal messages that were added to this feature. For instance, the fact that Link does not talk at all during the entire game is implied. Also, I noticed the implication that Navi talks too much and tends to get annoyin, Tingle-the ridiculous map seller (from the sequal, "The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask"), the unwavering Skull Kids in Hyrule Field, and the Happy Mask Salesman (as he is in "The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask"). Next, I see that the title is called "Legend of Link: LOL." This seems to be a pretty clever title as it is a comic spoof and 'LOL' reflects both 'Legend of Link' and popular AOL teen vocabulary 'lol' or 'laugh out loud'. Finally, I would like to give my score. I give this short film a 'B' ranking. Well this was an interesting piece and I look forward to seeing more of these films in the future. |
