In January 2005 we visited the abandoned psychiatric hospital in Whitby. It has since been destroyed to make way for more monster homes. I had just bought a new camera and wanted to try it out. We found the old asylum filled of all kinds of remnants, including someone's collection of vinyl record albums, with titles like "LOVE ME OR MY DREAM IS GONE". Medical records, and the typewriters used to create them, were strewn about on the floor. We found beautiful flower petals that had kept fresh in the cold. It was a shock to see them, along with black rope and strands of electrical tape, in the dirty tub. There was a load of unused film in the next room.
