Martial Arts

The Brave Lionis a 1977 martial arts movie, dir. Ng Fei Chien. There’s trouble a-brewin’ at a lumber yard run by ruthless Japanese overlords. Unable to distract their masters with Hello Kitty merchandise and robot anime, our heroes must use their fists instead. For a movie with such intended social commentary, this one’s curiously absent of plot, logic, or a point. The Fu: Anarchy! With both Dr. D and Professor Fu absent, everything fell apart. A running gag regarding songs that easily stick in your head turned to chaos pretty darn quickly. Meanwhile, uncredited guest star Lt. Ridiculous made his debut appearance, which went about as smoothly as an unscripted, what-the-fudge-are-we-doing? performance possibly could. But hey, that's what the Fu's all about, right? After all, it's not like the movie was worth discussing this week. By the way, I still have that song stuck in my head. Well, that's one thing we got! official page
